Running for a Cause: The Marathon des Sables in Memory of Andrew Spyrow
This April, John Bush has committed to a unique and challenging journey – participating in the Marathon des Sables to raise funds for the Andrew Spyrow Scholarship. The Marathon des Sables is more than just a race; it's a test of endurance and spirit. Spanning several days, this ultra-marathon covers over 250 kilometers (150 miles) through the Sahara Desert, often regarded as the most demanding footrace on the planet.
But why this race? Running was a passion deeply cherished by Andy, a remarkable individual whose memory we honor through this scholarship. Andy found joy and freedom in running, and it is this shared passion that drives John to take on one of the world's most arduous races. In doing so, he aims not only to challenge himself but to keep Andy's spirit alive and thriving.
We invite you to join John on this journey, not just as a spectator but as a supporter in keeping Andy's legacy alive. Your encouragement and donations will go directly towards the scholarship, aiding us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, just as Andy did.
If you’re interested in tracking John (Bib #285) during this expedition, some options are listed below. The race starts on Sunday, April 14th and the final stage is April 20th.
Thank you in advance for your support!
